Detective Beasley’s willful ignorance cannot excuse the blatant violation of Keith Warrens civil rights

Because Detective Beasley didn’t follow procedure, broke protocol, and played judge and jury in the death of Keith Warren, other well-meaning officers got the message… that Montgomery County Maryland Police department tolerates sloppy police work, incompetence and blatant disregard for the oath taken every day. In addition, that its OK for fellow officer to witness these actions and remain silent behind that “blue wall” because it will shield them from civilian authority. As long as officers meet their numbers and keep crime at a minimum there is a belief that the general population will turn a blind eye. Detective Beasley found security in knowing that no one would challenge him or his actions. MCMPD failure to police Beasley and his actions showed their indifference and acceptance of Detective Beasley and his blatant disregard for the life of Keith Warren and the loss suffered by the Warren family. Today MCMPD has an opportunity to right this wrong, to show that they will not tolerate this behavior, that this kind of behavior is not acceptable.
